Omega Awards 44

Rising Star of the Week - N/A

Promo Battle of the Week - Jeff X, Hans Olsen, Layne Kurobane and Christopher Sabertooth vs. Reginald Damshaw III, Moongoose McQueen, Maggall and Carlos Rosso

When you throw a group of outspoken renegades like these into the mix, you’re always going to have words flying in every direction. Each competitor stepped up and staked their claim, going over their role played at Final Destination and their goals for Season 2. Putting the best promoers in the game in the ring at the same time will usually yield greatness.

Match of the Week - Jeff X, Hans Olsen, Layne Kurobane and Christopher Sabertooth vs. Reginald Damshaw III, Moongoose McQueen, Maggall and Carlos Rosso

As previously stated, this was a murderers row of talent. A clash of egos and a collection of the best OWA has to offer. The action was non-stop from the outset, each man eager to get their licks in and make their mark. When the dust settled, Jeff X’s team stood tall after a hard-earned victory. Not even the daming presence of Nate Cage in the post-match scuffle could but a downer on a real crowd-pleaser.

Moment of the Week - Nathan Fiora Saves Music

In an awe inspiring and utterly bewildering segment, Nathan Fiora channeled his musical prowess to bless us all with the performance of a lifetime. At least that’s what was supposed to happen. Instead, we saw the debut of the enigmatic Cyanide, who made it clear that he wants to make Nathan Fiora recognise his genius. It was a true Kingdom after FD moment that shook up the entire landscape of OWA.

Promoer of the Week - Carlos Rosso

Carlos Rosso has managed to turn running his mouth into an artform. And if you find yourself in his crosshairs, you’re likely going to have even a hint of a character flaw exposed and extrapolated. Everybody in the opposite camp got theirs, and Carlos kept on going. Whether he was blasting Layne Kurobayne for being insecure or brushing off insults directed at himself like they were nothing, Carlos handled it all with a collected coolness that can only come from years of top level competition.

Champion of the Week - Natalie Cage

Natalie’s first test as Women’s World Champ was a daunting one: face the two-time Goddesses Champion in a hotly anticipated rematch. Both belts have so much prestige, and both women were eager to bolster the profile of their respective hardware. In the end, Natalie proved that only the best of the best can hold the top prize on Odyssey, reassuring us all that her win against Azumi Goto wasn’t a fluke.

Alpha of the Week - Scott Oasis and Natalie Cage

Well, this is awkward. Now that the women of OWA are officially all called Alphas rather than Goddesses, one of our awards has had to be scrapped. The solution? Just give Alpha of the Week to someone from Kingdom or Olympus and one from Odyssey, of course. Whether this retroactively makes all Goddess of the Week Awards Alphas or not is up for debate, but this is the system we have now.

As said before, Natalie Cage defeated Dulce Torres and got her win back over one of the few people to get the better of her. Not many people can say they’ve pinned Dulce, so this only made Natalie’s win/loss record all the more impressive. The face of Odyssey is probably going to find herself in this category a lot, much like the previous holders of the top belt.

On the men’s side of things, Scott Oasis bounced back from his loss to Aria Jaxon in just about the most spectacular way possible: by pinning CM Nas and becoming the COO of OWA. You heard that right, The Iceman himself is now running the day-to-day proceedings of the entire promotion. If that isn’t an achievement worthy of this award, then I don’t know what is.
