Heaven's Den Confidential: Is This Wolf Still Loyal to the Pack?

Is There a Rift Within Wolvesden?

Many were left reeling from the brutal concrete jungle death match between Scott Oasis and Kenny Drake, but we were all left with one question on our minds: What is going on with Wolvesden? The faction have dominated OWA programming for the better part of eight months now. They’ve held tag team gold, headlined shows, been on posters, the whole shebang. They are undoubtedly one of the OWA’s most well-known (and infamous) entities, but could there be trouble in paradise?

We all know about Natalie Cage’s defection from the group, one that has led her to great success and popularity over on Odyssey, which has people wondering if her brother will be following suit. Nate Cage was absent from the aforementioned death match this week on Kingdom, appearing only briefly that evening to torment Jeff X after his hard-fought victory over RD3. Many have pointed out that it’s been a long time since Nate and Kenny have even been seen on-screen together, apparently having left each other to their own devices.

There’s speculation that some sort of rift has formed in the Wolvesden camp, our very own Cori Simmons was able to track down Nate Cage as he left Kingdom for a brief interview. Below is a transcript of that interview.

“Nate! Nate! What did you think of that main event? Don’t you think you should have been there? Scott Oasis has now beat both of you and seemingly ended this war on his terms, do you feel that’s somewhat your fault?”

“They really do just hand out journalism degrees to anyone these days, don’t they? Listen Cori, did you see Kenny Drake helping me out when Scott Oasis drove my head into a pile of thumbtacks at Vindication? Or what about when he sent me crashing through the Burning Sky set? I’m my own man, and so is Kenny Drake. I’m not here to babysit him, fight his battles for him. Why don’t you ask me about the fact I recently became the first Alpha on Kingdom to beat Aria Jaxon? Why don’t you ask me about how I’m about to put an end to Jeff X permanently?

“I’ve heard the rumblings, I’ve heard what the people are saying. They’re saying Wolvesden is cracking, that I’m trying to strike out on my own. Are you married, Cori?”

“I don’t think that’s any of your business.”

“Well in my scenario, you are. Imagine spending every minute of every day with your husband or wife or whatever. You’d be sick of them. Me and Kenny were the first ever OWA Bloodline Tag Team Champions, and when we held those titles, they meant something. Look at Heart and Seoul and their so-called reign, those titles have dropped off the face of the Earth. Me and Kenny will always be a united front, but he’s got his problems and I’ve got mine. What’s the next pay-per-view featuring Kingdom performers? Under Pressure, is it?”

“Yes.”

“Well, you’re a journalist, I know you want the scoop all the time. I’m gonna throw you a bone. At Under Pressure, for the first time since Burning Sky, the OWA fans will see Nate Cage and Kenny Drake team up. Doesn’t matter who it’s against, we’re taking applications. But you’re gonna be reminded that we are still this company’s most dangerous force. Now get the fuck out of my face and let me go home.”

[TRANSCRIPT END]

There you have it. Nate Cage is being incredibly defensive about his role within Wolvesden but is trying to assure everyone that it’s all fine. We also received some pretty major news in the form of the first “confirmed” match for Under Pressure, Nate’s promised that we will see himself and Kenny tag together for the first time in five months. Who knows who they’ll be facing or indeed if their deadly chemistry will still be there? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
