Omega Weekly Awards IX

Miltiades entering the ring for his match against Jacob Senn.

Rising Star of the Week

Miles Taylor

You may not like his brash attitude or his aggressive demeanour, but Miles Taylor had about as good of a debut as you could hope for this week. He managed to defeat both Judas and Zak Zero in arguably the best new Alpha triple threat we’ve ever seen in the OWA. Both of his opponents were laid out come the final bell, with the victorious Taylor standing tall. The entire Olympus roster had better be on notice, this guy’s one to watch.

Promo Battle of the Week

Scotty Adams vs. Dustin Duke

At this rate, we’re gonna have to rename promo awards after Scotty Adams. Our Spartan Champion showed the world why he’s one of the very best when he came for the throat of the ignorant Dustin Duke. These two men had no pleasantries to exchange, it was the foul-mouthed redneck teeing off with the kind-hearted Australian. The mutual disdain these two men have for one another was palpable, and enough to earn the nod as the best exchange of the week.

Match of the Week

Jacob Senn vs. Miltiades

Did anyone else feel like they needed a cigarette after this one? Ahead of their respective matches at Boiling Point, two of wrestling’s true iron men duked it out in a goddamn war. The beads of sweat that were dripping off of their bodies by the end almost warranted a wet floor sign to be placed in the ring. Despite only being a week out from huge matches, these two beasts held nothing back, with #1 contender for the Omega Heavyweight Title Miltiades managing to claw his way to victory. It was a brutal affair and one of the best television matches of the year so far.

Promoer of the Week

The Goose

Okay Jasmine, keep it together, you were a mess when you wrote about The Goose last week. It’s two in a row for one of the hottest (and I do mean hottest) rising stars in the entire world today. The Goose oozes charisma from every pore and his unique, eye-catching promos are enough to make a grown man cry and a woman ovulate…umm…what was I saying? Uh, yeah, The Goose wins the award and my heart.

Goddess of the Week

Savannah Sunshine/Azumi Goto

Readers, it’s a first for the weekly awards, we have a tie! I could not call Goddess of the Week between these two women, I was going to flip a coin but they’re my awards so why not give it to both of them? Savannah Sunshine ended her recent run of misfortune by earning the last spot in the inaugural Queen of the Ring match. She even inadvertently eliminated her tag team partner, Jessica Rose on the way to doing it! It was a well-earned victory and it makes Savannah an experienced veteran in a match populated by OWA newcomers. This arguably puts her at a huge advantage come Sunday.

And then there’s Azumi Goto, who scored a badass submission victory over Mia Marie Vega in a hell of a match. Goto has all of the momentum heading into her match with Sweet Roxy for the OWA Women’s Championship, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re calling her champ very soon. A huge congratulations for both these women.

Alpha of the Week

Miltiades

If I were CM Nas, I would be very worried indeed about the prospect of losing to this man. Coming back in a big way after being pinned last week in a tag match against Heart and Seoul, Miltiades had to prove himself worthy of his title shot in a barn burner of a match with Jacob Senn. I’ve already heaped my praise upon the efforts of both men, but to the victor goes the spoils. We may very well be looking at the next Omega Heavyweight Champion in Miltiades.
