Rising Star of the Week
The Goose
The man, the myth, the legend, the god, the most amazing…mesmerising…uhh sorry I completely lost track of what I was saying there. The Goose put away Senza Faccia in about five seconds and it might have been the greatest moment in the history of professional wrestling. Nothing much else to say, long may The Goose reign.
Promo Battle of the Week
Isaac Thornton vs. Layne Kurobane
These two held nothing back ahead of their main event match on Kingdom this week. What proved to be an outstanding match was led into by a boastful war of words between one of the hottest new stars in OWA and the new #1 contender for Finnegan Wakefield’s OWA World Championship. They laid it all on the line and staked their claim as being among OWA’s most aggressive wordsmiths. There was a palpable intensity as the two men went back and forth multiple times. I hope this isn’t the last time we see Layne and Isaac mix it up.
Match of the Week
TyAnna Jupiter vs. Jessica Rose
Two weeks in a row does the Match of the Week Award go to the Goddess Division, and it is well deserved. The mini-epic between these two ladies wouldn’t have looked out of place on a pay-per-view, let alone on free television. The two fan favourites had the crowd torn on who to root for, leading to multiple ovations for the work of both women. It was a 100 MPH affair with both ladies wanting to prove they belong. It would prove to be TyAnna Jupiter who would advance to the Queen of the Ring match at Boiling Point. This means both Jessica Rose and Savannah Sunshine will be in the last chance battle royal on the go-home Kingdom show before the big event. I’m sure we’re all interested to see how that will play out.
Promoer of the Week
Isaac Thornton
Double awards it is for last week’s Alpha of the Week. The current #1 contender was always going to be deadly on the mic with his acting background, but I’m not sure there’s anyone on the current roster who is on a roll quite as impressive as Isaac Thornton right now. He tore into Layne Kurobane and reminded everyone why he should be the next OWA World Champion. If I were Finnegan Wakefield, I’d be incredibly nervous about Boiling Point, Isaac Thornton is kicking ass and taking names!
Goddess of the Week
TyAnna Jupiter
Watching this woman work at Olympus was a joy. Not only was she in the best match of the week, but she beat a game Jessica Rose and had the entire audience chanting her name by the end. Combine this outstanding wrestling ability with crowd support and the wonderful show of sportsmanship between both parties at the end of the match, and it’s easy to see why Jupiter is this week’s top dog. She is a true role model for little girls to look up to, earning her wins and working harder than anyone else in the room to carve out a path for herself. I cannot wait to see what lies in this woman’s future.
Alpha of the Week
Gareth Cason
Gareth Cason is a scary, scary man, but he’s also one of the most legit dudes in the OWA today. Our Television Champion put on a clinic against Stark this week, showcasing why he is one of the very top names of the Olympus brand. It was a brutal match that had me wincing throughout, with Cason eventually defeating a man who was in contention for the Omega Heavyweight Title in our last PPV event. Stark is no joke, and to defeat him in the main event of Olympus and continue an unrivalled run of dominance is why Gareth Cason is Alpha of the Week.
