Rising Star of the Week
Jeff X
Between his impressive showing last week against CASPIAN and his decimation of Jax Wylde this week, Jeff X has firmly impressed a formerly hostile OWA crowd. The man is on his way to becoming a real fan favourite and if he can string together some more noteworthy showings, he will no doubt be in the conversation for title contention somewhere down the line.
Promo Battle of the Week
Gareth Cason Vs. Miles Taylor
Two men who aren’t exactly the most beloved members of the OWA roster had a hostile trade off in the build up to their TV Title match. We all know that Gareth Cason is one of the very best talkers we have, but Miles Taylor stepped up to the plate and let the world know that he will not be intimidated by the man who is “Legit Dangerous.” While Gareth would ultimately retain his title, the defiance shown by Miles will serve him in good stead.
Match of the Week
Aria Jaxon vs. CASPIAN
A match that could easily headline a major OWA show, the most star-studded Kingdom main event yet did not disappoint. Aria Jaxon marked her arrival in the Alphas Division with a win over CASPIAN in a match that almost killed both competitors. By the end of the night, the two fighters were battered and bloodied, staring up at the lights with exhaustion. The thrilling ending that saw Aria simply collapse on top of CASPIAN to score arguably an inadvertent pin had every single fan on their feet. We will not be forgetting this match any time soon.
Moment of the Week
Talk to me Goose! (The Goose and Isaac Thornton)
We’re introducing a brand new award this week, one that will allow wrestlers who didn’t have a match to still have a shot at winning something. This is Moment of the Week, an award designed for the individual moments that stuck with us after each show went off the air. This week, it goes to the debut of The Goose’s new talk show and his incredibly entertaining interview with Isaac Thornton. The two charismatic dynamos went toe-to-toe with each other, as The Goose’s hard-hitting questions hit a little too close to home for Thornton’s liking. Anybody who wasn’t entertained by this needs to have their pulse checked.
Promoer of the Week
Tarah Nova
Tarah’s quest for TV Title gold continued this week as she cut Zak Zero down to size with her ever impressive promo abilities. An elite talker who is never short of ways to stall the momentum of an opponent, Tarah reminded us all why she is a true trailblazer of this business. Now she has yet another feather to place in her cap.
Goddess of the Week
Savannah Sunshine
Three. Times. This is the third Goddess of the Week for Savannah Sunshine as she continues on her run of a lifetime in the Goddess Division. Defending her Ring of Opportunity against Megan Harper in a fantastic match, Savannah provided moments of shock and awe when she seemingly proved invincible against some of Megan’s best moves. It was a well-earned victory that must surely have anybody in the women’s title picture on notice, as there is a constant threat waiting in the wings with a golden opportunity.
Alpha of the Week
Aria Jaxon
Aria Jaxon continues to make history. She is the first ever woman to win Alpha of the Week, as well as the first person to win both Alpha and Goddess of the Week. She already has a lofty list of accolades and she just got another one. Aria is now in the Alpha ranks and put away one of its top stars in CASPIAN in a match that I’ve already heaped my praises upon. When the time comes, Aria Jaxon will surely be in line for a crack at the OWA World Championship, whoever might be holding it. To everyone that’s on her call out list, I’d be looking over your shoulder.
