OWT Combine Report: July Edition

A quick glimpse of the OWT Combine.

Omega Wrestling Alliance has felt a surge of incoming talent on all levels of the company. While both Kingdom and Olympus have seen an influx of competitors on both brands since the draft, OWT has seen an incredible growth in it’s developmental roster. With 19 males, and 21 females, the brand is almost as large, or even larger, than it’s main roster counterparts. To keep our athletes in top shape for their upcoming matches, which will see four of them crowned the OWT Champion, the OWT Women’s Champion, and the OWT Tag Team Champions, Vernon Tressler wants to make sure all of his athletes growth in not only agility, but skill, cardio, and all factors of their jobs as future Omega Alphas and Goddesses. Enter the resigning of Michael Bishop by Tressler. Appointed to be the Performance Center head coach, trainer, and manager, He’s decided to recruit 7 of each gender into a combine, reminiscent of his old developmental days. A collective of voluntary, and hand picked OWT competitors, meant to show who’s at peak performance at what, at which category.

Some notes from the competitors ranged a variety of views on the combine. Nelson Tethers viewed the combine as a “Perfect way for us to strut our stuff” while being off of “Free TV”. Thorsen saw the course as a “Waste” because he was “The Apex of OWT athleticism”. Kat Ricci was excited to work with the male roster on the combine, and the coaches, after watching both Bishop and Kensington on OWA PPVs leading up to the developmental brand’s creation. Bianca came into it confident, and St. Clair added “perfect way to get better, and to prove my coaches right”.

Coaches Notes: Bishop notes the combine was extremely effective, and raised morale and camaraderie among the participants. Though showing fatigue due to this being the first of it’s kind for OWT, Michael Bishop is confident future exercises will show shifts, changes, and growths in all competitors involved. Kensington noted how unlike “The Main Roster”, the OWT competitors were very friendly and outgoing to each other towards the end. With many of the Female Roster cheering towards the end, and Bishop and O’Leary commentating through most of the events, especially the sparring. After reviewing the success of the event, Vernon Tressler has agreed to bring Bishop on full time, as well as sign him to organize future Combines, and other OWT training/competitive events.
